The most charismatic and the most energetic drummer, composer and producer of Russian jazz scene is Oleg Butman. Oleg Butman started playing the drums at the age of eight, being 15 he was invited to work in a well-known Russian rock band "Televizor"(TV set). In 1988 Oleg moved to Moscow. Here he was immediately attracted to various projects, leading an active concert schedule, contacting with American stars who come to Russia. Among them are John Faddis, Billy Taylor, Grover Washington, Pat Metheny. In August 1997, together with Igor Butman comes out the first album "Nostalgia", recorded at RPM Studio, New York. The album became the sales leader among jazz CDs. The year of 2007 can be called the starting point in the composer’s activity of the musician. In Spring Oleg met a young talented pianist Natalia Smirnovain Moscow, invited her to his band and they started writing music together. Thus the project of Oleg Butman’s project «Jazz Passion» was born. His bright, dynamic game and personal charm won him fame among Russian counterparts, and in the circles of the foreign stars of jazz. Among his associates - the famous musicians such as vibraphonist Joe Locke, bassist Eddie Gomez, pianist Andy Laverna, guitarist Ron Afiff.
